PHUKET 2024 - My Recommendations

I went to Phuket last March for 6D5N. Here are my recommendations:

p.s: We rented a car at the airport to drive around the island.

📍Lard Yai Sunday Market ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

MUST VISIT!!! All the food there is really good and affordable. Take note that it only opens on Sunday (4pm-11pm). We had a difficult time finding parking and the jam is quite bad. I would recommend going earlier like 5-6pm and leave before 8pm to avoid the jam.

📍Prompthep Cape ⭐⭐⭐

The place is located down south of Phuket. We had to drive almost an hour from Big Buddha to catch the sunset. We wanted to have a picnic there while watching the sunset BUT that place was very very crowded, so there wasn’t much space for us to sit and watch the sunset. Only come to this sunset spot if you have a lot of time to kill!

📍Raya Island ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We booked a scuba diving day tour at Raya Island through Klook. You don’t need a diving license for this spot! It’s very safe and each pair will be assigned 1 instructor to bring you around. Do take note that you have to pay 10,000 THB to the underwater photos. The instructor will use a GoPro to take photos for you. If you have your own GoPro, then it’s FOC.

📍Kahung Beach ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Super nice beach to chill at. The waters are super clear and lesser people as compared to other beaches. The only downside is that you have to take a boat to get here.

📍Kata Beach ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love Kata beach, it reminds me of Australia. I took so many photos for my ig here. The waves are great, overall this beach is quite clean. The only downside is that there’s very little option for food/restaurants and everything here is on the pricier side.

📍Patong Beach ⭐⭐

I didn’t really like Patong Beach, it was over crowded and personally I don’t feel safe leaving my belongings on the beach while I’m in the water. There’s a lot of water sports/activities you can do here like parasailing. But if you like the partying, then this is the place to be.

📍Koh Khai Nok ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A small island located around 30 minutes boat ride from Phuket. It’s a very very very small island with lots and lots of jellyfish. It’s a very nice place to chill and sun tan. I would recommend coming early in the morning to avoid the crowd, the drinks here are around 180 THB per glass/coconut.

p.s: you have to pay 100THB each beach chairs!

📍Maya Bay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Finally the infamous Maya Bay, overcrowded as usual, however definitely worth the visit!! Do note that, we are not allowed to go into the waters (for photos is okay). There’s only 1 mini shop on the island, so prepare snacks and drinks before coming.
