instead of using the usual as your sauce, try using soy sauce! This recipe only requires 3 ingredients: tteokbokkie, soy sauce and butter/oil ! It is a fast and easy food for snacking and to satisfy your cravings🤤🤤

Tteokbokkie (stick)
Soy sauce
Butter
Personally, I usually go for the stick shape Tteokbokkie ($3.20 @ Fairprice) because there’s more texture to it compared to the thin oval ones!
Just melt the butter (tbh this President butter ($6.65 @ Fairprice) is the best I have gotten and made every dish even more delicious)and place the tteokbokkie inside to let it cook! Within minutes (3-4) the outside will turn crispy and softer.
Then pour in 3-4 spoonful of soy sauce inside! (ps... there would be sizzling and you are doing it right)
Allow it to cook for another 4-5minutes or depending on how chewy you would like it to be.... and you are done!
There you have it a tteokbokkie dish that is crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside!
I learnt how to cook this because my sister cannot take the usual spicy tteokbokkie and she loves this. You can add a little sugar to taste some sweetness other than the salty🙊
