i realised this would be a summarised resume LOL but here are the 9 jobs i have/had since i started working at 15 years old

1. stock taker - $7.50/hour

this was my very first part time job that i got after i finished my end of year exams when i was 15. i was sent to supermarkets all around the island to count the stocks/items off the shelves. im not sure what the purpose was but it was a decent job, i was able to work with my friends. it was mostly an adhoc job so i could choose which particular supermarkets i wanted to go to for work. working hours were pretty decent too but because we're always under the aircon, sometimes it gets super cold and it makes our fingers freeze!!!

2. cny cookies promoter - $8/hour

this was actually my 5th job lol..but defintely the worst i ever had. initially i applied because the location was so, so, so convenient !! it was at a small bakery shop at the market opposite of my house. i quit on the third day because i was not feeling well and i was not allowed to take any mc because the HR couldnt find a replacement. initially a 2 person job, they cut down to one staff per shift. before my first day of work the HR texted me to say that i would need to take over the other person's shift because she needed to look after her kids and could not work. they wanted me to work at least 9-12 hours everyday and the shift starts at 7am. holy shit on my second day i woke up at 6.45am...this job is really #notforme . not to mention that it gets very crowded in the morning where everyone goes to the wet market to get groceries.

3. festive order taker - $10/hour

the only thing i liked about this job its the flexibility in schedule. i was able to choose the dates i wanted to work (however i would need to turn up for work everyday during peak period) but it was still good. the long standing hours didnt bother me as i had a partner to work with. even though its been 5 years since we worked together, we're still friends. daily tasks were easy, just that occasionally we had to endure super rude customers, some of which would even scream at your face infront of a weekend crowd. be prepared to lose all your dignity when it comes to retail.

4. mooncake promoter - $10/hour

oh i really loved this job. my co-workers were the nicest people to work with and i was genuinely sad when i had to leave. similar to the festive order job, i had to face rude customers and endured their nastiest attitudes. on the bright side, i was allowed to bring some mooncakes home! and they were definitely not cheap..a 4pcs mooncake easily cost over $100 especially since i was working for a hotel..

5. toastbox service crew - $8/hour

more or less same as the previous 2 jobs. i had the nicest boss and supervisor that always look out for me, by making me breakfast knowing that i start work on an empty stomach. i was given free lunch too. i had to stand for 6 or 12 hours depending on my shift, and most of the time i was working alone. shift starts at 9am everyday so it was quite tiring for me as i have trouble waking up early in the morning. this was meant to be a holiday job but i decided to stay on when school started again, and i worked on both weekends.

6. aquarist intern - $1600/month

whenever i tell people i worked in the aquarium theyre like WAHH thats so interesting...thats because it really is!! this job was part of my school's internship programme that i needed to go through in order to graduate. this has to be the best job i ever had despite all the negativity and work politics going on with the higer ups...i was constantly surrounded by marine animals - mainly fishes. i had the opportunity to care for exotic animals like the alligator gars, sharks, sea jellies, seahorses and poison dart frogs. super amazing experience and i genuinely think i learned more stuff from my 5 months intern than 2.5 years in school..this job was also like a sneak peek of what i will be experiencing when i start working full time after graduation. i'd say it prepped me well.

7. dog daycare assistant - $10/hour

i hae always wanted to work with animals and i thought that this experience was interesting and decided to give it a shot. my (then) boss was kind enough to give me an opportunity to work in her company despite me not having a single experience when it came to the pet industry. i learned so many things here - from dog handling, dog training and even some grooming skills. this was also a super fun job because the daycare had a curriculum where the doggos would be brought out to the dog run to play, or iconic landmarks around singapore for an excursion. the dogs that attend the daycare were all super cute and lovely to humans. this job made me love dogs so much that i decided to keep one on my own!

8. content creator - $2XXX/month

my first full time job! i remained in the same company as the previous job with a completely different role. although there were times where i still needed to be in the operational team, most of the time i was a marketing associate for the company. since it was a one-woman team, things can get quite challenging especially if i were to seek opinions from the others. i had to work on projects and come up with social media content to engage with our followers and clients. however i did not hold this position for long as the work politics were getting intense as the months go by, so i decided to leave.

9. pet shop assistant - $2XXX/month

i was so grateful that i was offered this position because i really wanted to work here after hearing about the job scope. my job is to sell puppies (please dont tell me what adopt dont shop i am so lazy to argue with you i'll let you win), but i would also need to help out with their daycare as well. i just started this job a week ago and things are going really well! i met the nicest people the NICEST SUPERVISOR and the incentives im given are very good.
