I thought it’d be fun to give you guys a peek into 3 apartment units I viewed but didn’t get and let you know why they didn’t work. I don’t remember exactly the price, but they were all under $3K and a little deeper in Brooklyn. I have a partner, so we’d need a room that fits a queen sized bed with some space.

Apt 1: Corner unit, floor to ceiling windows, newly rennovated building, and great location (in a residential area and right next to a church, so it feels safe!). Actual unit viewed was different than in the posting. Decent shared living space/dining/kitchen, and there’s a gym and laundry at the basement. There were 2 rooms, but each room is just a tiny square that would only fit a full sized bed. It would work out if you have a roommate, each is single.

Apt 2: Also corner unit with a huge balcony with great view to the city. There’s decently sized 1 bedroom, but the dining/living/kitchen space is too small for 2 people. It’s also at 3K, and the landlord doesn’t want to lower the rent considering the unit has been on the market for some time. I didn’t feel like it’s the right one anyway.

Apt 3: I really like the layout of this unit, but it’s a 2 bedroom and out of our budget. The 1 bedroom option doesn’t have the right feel when I toured it in person. It’s got high ceiling and amazing natural light coming. The building is also newly renovated, however it’s just located too far to the city.
