1. Hotel Transylvania, 2012

⭐️Rate: 8/10

🎬Review: Cute movie. Has a couple of great messages - especially one about prejudices. There are some adult jokes, some childish jokes, lots of laugh out loud moments but most importantly the following messages: Hatred against those we don't know is wrong; Let yourself get to know a person before deciding whether they are good or not; and go along for the ride and let yourself enjoy life.

I also love the fact that this is a Dad raising his child situation. There are really few movies that show a Dad can step up and do the right thing for their children if given the chance.

While I didn't particularly care for the fart joke or some of the childish parts the kids in the theater laughed and laughed.

2. Spookley the Square Pumpkin, 2005

🎬Review: Spookley is about what you'd expect from a direct-to-video kids movie made on a relatively low budget.

It's fine. That's about the line I draw. The songs are fine. The story is fine. The animation isn't quite fine. Overall, it's fine. The movie, in general, is about not judging people based on their appearances or other shallow reasons. That's a fine moral, and I don't really have any problems with kids' movies having a clearly defined (and stated) moral.

There are some issues, however. First, they play off two characters for laughs due to the fact they are a little 'slow'. It's strange to have this movie about acceptance have two characters playing with qualities that are often played off for laughs in a damaging way to people who really may be different.

Other than that, the biggest issue is how simple it all is. Granted, that's not a bad thing for a movie for toddlers, but there are a lot of kids' shows on Disney Jr. or Nick Jr. that feel a little more complex in about a quarter of the runtime this one had.

Again, it's fine. If you're struggling to find something Halloween-related to watch with your young kids but don't want them downright terrified for hours, this is probably a fine bet.

3. The Witches of Coventry, 2005

🎬Review: Reunited on her 21st birthday, twin sisters (Tia Mowry, Tamera Mowry) use their magical powers to save their kingdom from the forces of darkness. Adopted by different families when they were still babies, two little witches are reunited on the day they turn 21 and discover that their mysterious magical powers are even stronger when they are together. What they don't know is that they are about to save the world from a great evil, using their incredible abilities. So cute and cuddly, what an unfair average ????, two adopted and empowered twin black witches, how not to love, everything very simple, but sweet and plumbing... It's silly, and sometimes crazy, but it's so sweet, funny (little, very little) that captivates..

4. A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting, 2020

🎬Review: This is a good kid movie. It's not fully an original idea. But this movie is fun. If your a fan of KND (Code Name Kids Next Door), Agent Cody Banks, and Little Monsters. That's where I feel the creators of this film got this idea. The acting isn't perfect. It's good over all. There's some not so good acting. But the main character that you follow is good. The story isn't hard to follow. Which makes since. Cause this movie is meant for young kids. Probably ages 7 to 12. Honestly the CGI monsters could be a little better. If you where ok with how the smurfs looked in their movie then you'll be fine. Overall all I believe this will be a good family movie to add to the family Halloween movies to watch with the kids during October.

5. Goosebumps, 2015

🎬Review: Fun story! Jack black plays stine. And the actual author of this story, robert stine, plays.... mr.

Black! Wacky. When his family moves to a new house in the burbs, zach is the new kid at school.

And strange things are happening in the hood... he meets a cute girl. A monster is on the loose, but it seems to be harmless. This is all tied to the weird neighbor next door, hannah's father. He's grumpy, has a terrible temper, and has his own issues. And doesn't want to talk with zach and his friends. There's a talking dummy. Evil garden gnomes. It's silly but fun. Some clever twists here and there! Fun, family safe film. Directed by rob letterman. As of today, there's a television series in the works as well.
