Where to get CUTE and CHEAP fluffy buns.

This Taiwanese bao store is one of my go-to place to get delicious steamed buns. The buns are WAYYY bigger than local baos. The regular bao skin reminds me of din tai fung too! They sell a variety of buns like juicy meat buns, juicy vegetable buns, red bean bun, sesame bun, 花卷 hua juan, mantou, salted custard buns, handmade dumplings and even fried snacks and pastries!

I like the vegetable bun and black sugar 发糕 huat kueh the most. The dough is soft and chewy. The cute character buns are newer additions to their menu. It costs $1.50 each. These character buns are smaller than their regular sized buns. They said that the colours used to dye the buns are all natural.

As for their fried snacks, I would recommend the egg omelette pancake, 葱油饼 cong you bing and black sugar sesame pastry that is very similar to Korea’s hoddeok.
