I Wish I Had Read This When I Was Younger!

I’m currently reading “Women Don’t Owe You Pretty” by Florence Given and dang, I wish I had read this when I was younger and could’ve learned these things sooner.

A lot of what I’m reading I’ve learned through lived experience and I can look back and remember exactly when and how I learned it. But how gentler it would’ve been to learn it from a book than from the world. 🌼

10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a fun, freeing, and fierce self help (ish) book full of color, casual narrative, illustrations, and insight that will make you relook at yourself and the world around you. She’s also extremely inclusive of all identities and communities - on the second page she mentions ableism and its impacts on society; I was sold instantly.
