Hello~

I welcomed my lil dragon girl on 08/09/2024 naturally without inducing.

Was scheduled for an induce on 09/09/2024 as during all the scans baby was shown to be on the heavier side. 3.6kg at 36+3. Hence, my gynae suggested to induce earlier Incase of medical complications like shoulder dystocia.

On 07/08/2024, about 7pm, I was still playing Valorant🤣 when I ended my game, I was feeling slightly tired so I decided to rest on bed. As I got onto my bed, I felt some cramps around my belly. My first thoughts were just ok la little bit cramp is normal. But after an hour, the cramps were still here to stay. I on the contractions timer app and it prompted me to go to the hospital. Waited for hub to be back from work and ordered dinner. After dinner, I showered and pack my hospital bag. (Yes I packed it on the same hour before leaving house) As a STM, I realised there wasn’t much to bring so it was easier for me to pack.

Hospital bag list

- baby’s discharge clothings

- mummy’s discharge clothings

- overnight panties pad

- charger (super important)

- admission/gynae documents

Headed to KKH Delivery suite. It was soooo full to the point that the only seats available in the waiting area was at the counter. The delivery suite was flooded with daddies waiting for their wife in the triage. I went alone as I didn’t know how long the waiting time would be and I didn’t want my hubby to be waiting around doing nothing.

Waited about 1.5hours for a bed in the triage. Hooked onto the CTG to track contractions etc.

At 2am, my gynae came to check on my dilation. And I was already 3cm! So she mentioned that we can just wait for a delivery ward and proceed with epidural and waterbag bursting.

Had to lie in the triage bed for the next idk how many hours as labour wards were very full.

At 5am, the nurse came to inform me that there was an available room for the labour ward and I would be going there now. Called up my hubby and told him that he can make his way down now as I’m heading into the labour ward.

730am, anaesthesiologist came to administer the epidural for me. Wow, she was so experienced and the process was super fast compared to my first experience.

By 815am, I was already done and my gynae came to break the waterbag. So now the waiting game begins.

Had to draw 5 tubes of blood as I opted in for cord blood donation. I’m not usually afraid of needles but this process was even more painful than epidural. My IV plug area was already swollen and the drip wasn’t flowing into my veins. The nurse had to flush quite a few times to allow the drip to flow. On the last attempt, I jumped up as it was so painful for me to take and the nurse said that she had to redo the IV plug. I would very much prefer it to be redone as it was hurting so badly that I couldn’t clench my fist or do anything st all.

1130am~ another gynae came to check on my dilation and she said that I’m still 3cm and there were still some water surrounding baby. So she further broke the waterbag and expand my cervix to aid faster dilation.

251pm - I was 6-7cm at this point. So I guess it’s about another 2/3 hours before baby’s arrival.

However, at 3pm, I felt the urge to shit. Informed the nurse and they did a check. I was already 10cm! Within 9, mins from 6-7cm to 10cm and baby was already crowning.

They called my gynae and she rushed down from her place. When she arrived, baby’s head was already near the entrance and I could feel it too. Waited for the next contraction to come before pushing.

Pushed once and baby was out in less than a min! Fastest labour I guess? My gynae then begin to sew and do all the necessary works. She came and left within 30mins🤣

Nurses were asking if I wanted skin to skin with baby but I was shivering soooo badly as if I have Parkinson’s.. I didn’t dare hold baby for long as I scared I’ll keep shaking and she’ll drop off or something. Hence I just rest there and took a nap.

Baby was pushed to the nursery first and I followed after 2 hours. Was in my ward at 6+ and dinner time was over😭 hubby went to packet food for me before leaving.

Baby was born at 3.2kg, 400grams away from her estimated weight. Phew thank god.

So that’s about it for my birth story I guess? Now it’s time to be a cow and do my confinement properly! Ciaos🩷
