🇲🇾 Shun Jie Fried Rice Cake

Don’t let yourself get stuck in Dim Sum or Bean Sprout Chicken rut when you visit Ipoh. It may be the city’s classic food dish, but Ipoh is also a food mecca for street food and it’s also great value for the money. One of it is Shun Jie Fried Rice Cake!

Rice cake is sandwiched between slices of taro and sweet potato, clamped firmly together before dip in a batter, and then into hot oil and deep fry till golden brown perfection.

It’s crispy on the outside, and soft in the inside that it melts like a caramel lava. Amazing if you eat it while it's still hot. The taste is mind-blowing that one serving is not enough🫢

Tried other items like fried cempedak, sweet potato balls and abalone mushroom. All of them are nice too!

Never quite have anything other fried sticky rice close to this standard anywhere else. Absolutely a must visit every Ipoh trip! 30 minute of waiting but trust me, it's worth❤️
