My current fitness goal is to Maintain a lean and defined physique. I am the type of person that loves to have an athletic build, but to also come off feminine. In order to achieve this body, it is important to have the right nutrition and macros to ensure that my body is able to metabolize it properly for results. Here is my macro to maintain a lean physique:
40% protein
30% carbs
30% fats
Now I'm sure you are thinking, "WOW, that's a lot of protein! Let me tell you WHY a higher protein nutrition plan can be good for fat loss/staying lean:
**Your belly tends to retain more water when you eat carbohydrates. Therefore your body will look less "full" and more "lean" with less carbs.
**Eating more protein keeps you fuller, longer. Therefore, you are less prone to be eating your life away!
**Less carbs to expend, it uses stored fat as energy instead! When you use up your glycogen storage, your body goes to fat for energy, therefore creating more definition and tightness within the body!
