hi everyone!!
for my last post , i did a review on guasha and how it changed my face. someone commented asking for how to use a guasha and areas to focus on, so here is my guasha routine!
𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘳: i’m not an expert!! this is just what worked for me ヽ(•‿•)ノ i may actually be doing these incorrectly, i honestly just massage areas that i felt like i wanted to shape, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to comment them down below as well! 𓆩⟡𓆪
when using the guasha, make sure to apply a little bit of force — think about how you’d give someone a light massage! your face may be slightly pink after you’re done, and that’s how you know you’re applying enough force. it shouldn’t hurt! and if you want, invest in a good facial oil! i heard it makes a huge difference and i’m considering doing the same ଘ꒰ ๑ ˃̶ ᴗ ᵒ̴̶̷๑꒱و ̑̑
for the following strokes, repeat each movement 6 times, on each side of your face.
1. 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗮𝘄 👔
this is to encourage better blood circulation and promote healing. i always start with this first, then work my way up my face.
2. 𝗷𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 🦈
this is to release tension and reduce any swelling i have around my jaw area. i usually look a little puffy around here and my lower cheek area.
3. 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 ☺️
this is to reduce swelling in the cheeks and carve out the cheekbones
4. 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 👛
from the nose to the cheekbone, this is to reduce smile lines and swelling as well.
5. 𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗲👃🏼
i don’t love my nose because i don’t have a bridge and sometimes it can look really round because of water retention, so this helps a lot. i just scrape where i would typically put my nose contour.
6. 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 👀
i used to kind of have eyes that were a little downturned, but since i started doing this, they’re a little more neutral! run it along the end of your eye to your temple in a diagonal motion.
𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐩: you should ideally be keeping your gua sha cold, but since i don’t have a fridge in my room for it, i don’t have that luxury. it seems to have worked out fine anyways!
i hope this was helpful, as always let me know if you have any questions, and comment your thoughts down below x
