I’m not a nutritionist but I strongly believe home-cooked food is gonna be more nutritious for my furbabies. And it saves us a lot of money too.
The ingredients that I use on a regular basis:
1. Carrot (rich in vitamin A, good for their eyes and skin)
2. Salmon (omega 3 + keeps their coat healthy and shiny)
3. Minced pork (get lean pork for a healthier alternative)
4. Corn (good source of linoleic acid and antioxidants)
5. Turmeric powder (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, wound healing and anti-cancer)
I add in broccoli in occasionally too which is high in fiber and vitamin C.
They have never failed to finish up their food and it always smells SO GOOD when i cook it. Technically its human grade food right.. without all the oil and seasonings of course.
Steps to cook it is in the pictures itself!
Total cost for ingredients:
2 pkt of porkee frozen minced meat - $4.64 x2 = $9.28
1 can of cool kernel corn = $1.40
2 pkt of fresh salmon = ~$20 (by weight, usually 2 pkt)
1 pkt of carrot = ~$1.80 (by weight, usually 3 sticks)
1 masterfood tumeric powder = $4.85 (can be used for very long)
i’ll add in about 1/2 tablespoon of tumeric powder each time so it would be about estimated $0.48 each time i cook. So the total cost would come up to around $32.96/-
And this amount of food can feed my both dogs for about 10 days usually. Which means it’s only $3.30 to feed BOTH dogs daily ($1.65 each).
Would you try this recipe? What else do you cook for your furbabies! Let me know so i can try too!
