HELP 4C HAIR

I have 4C thick short hair and recently did a hair porosity test. It showed I'm between low and medium porosity (some strands floated while others sank slowly). Honestly, I think I'm low porosity but idk😑. I usually braid my hair every two weeks and use heat each time, so I’m looking for some good hair care tips.

I’m interested in recommendations for products and routines to care for my natural hair on wash day before I braid it. What should I be using to ensure my hair is healthy and moisturized before I braid?

Once I have my braids in, I’d love tips on how to maintain them. What products or methods do you recommend to keep my braids looking fresh and my scalp healthy?

If anyone has affordable suggestions or routines that have worked for them, I would greatly appreciate your input.
