1-1 pizzas and 28$ lunch deals??

Went on a lunch date with my fam to Picolino, a cute Italian restaurant tucked away in Shaw Center.Now as someone who LOVES Italian food I honestly feel these are some of the BEST pizzas you’ll ever try. We went there when they were having 1-1 pizzas and also got a lunch set that comes with a starter main and dessert for only 28$ a steal to me! So here’s my reviews💋💋

SWEET POTATO FRIES: 7/10 (10$)

Now personally I prefer sweet potato over regular potato fries it’s jst that much better😋. These fries did NOT disappoint they were crispy and sweet and the mayo sauce they put on top was sooooo good.

On to our MAINS!!! We got 1 pasta and 2 pizzas:

TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE: 9/10 ($19)

One of the best Mac and cheeses I ever had it was gooey and cheesy and I mannaged to finish the whole thing without feeling gelak. They use a bacon cream sauce I think as the base and also add truffle to it, it really elevates the whole pasta dish and every bite still tastes jst as good as the last.

BURRATA PIZZA: 10/10 (28$)

hands down it was my favourite main of the day. The burrata was creamy and so light and when u spred it on that delicious not too heavy pesto base it gives for the most crisp yet refreshing bite. What I love about this pizza was that even with the burrata on top the base was still super crispy that when you bite into it u can still hear the crunch. This was the type of pizza I could eat more and more of without feeling sick or bloated.

DIAVOLA PIZZA: 7/10 (24$)

now if you like cheesy meaty greasy New York style pizza this one’s for u. Who doesn’t love a good pepperoni pizza? This hit all the spots for when you want to indulge in some good hangover type food. It was salty and savoury and really kept me wanting more with each bite. One thing tho due to the amount of cheese the crust was a lil soggy unlike the burrata pizza which I guess it’s to be expected. I did get pretty full from this but I guess that’s becoz I had so much carbs already BAHAHA. No regrets tho definitely and indulgent satisfying greasy in a good way pizza

My verdict:

Hey! If you like Italian food like pizza and pasta at more affordable prices then those high end Italian restaurants this place is definitely for you! Snag an even better more worth it deal when you go during lunch for their 28$ set menu or head down till the end of May to enjoy their 1-1 pizzas!! Really recommend this place and I have frequented this place more than once😍
