Wasting my pay on BAGS

In this post: Givenchy mini M cut-out bag

Jumping right to it, I bought this bag after months of consideration. TLDR: no regrets. I love this baby so much.

Why I think it’s a justified purchase:

1. I like it. That’s what matters most. Trying it in the shop I just knew it. “This is mine.”

2. Not buying to sell- This bag will be something I’ll keep for a long time and I intend to carry this out often/ not sell it for its “investment value”.

3. I worked hard, I deserve it.

4. I DON’T want a fake. So many have told me I can find similar ones on Taobao. PLEASE. Literally kills the joy in working hard for things.

5. Brand is silently screaming- i don’t like huge logos and monograms plastered across a bag. I think this one does it delicately with the G cube chain which I love

6. Good for any occasion- i carry this everywhere. For dinners, weekend outings etc. Because of the size, it forces me to take only the essentials (cardholder, talisman, sanitiser, lipstick and mirror, airpods). It comes with a crossbody leather strap too that makes it look more casual and edgy!

After buying this, I had my share of “omg are you nuts?” and “huh? why buy this? can find on taobao” comments. But tbh, I really don’t mind it because I love bags and this bag was something I really wanted and worked hard to get. It’s just one bag in my collection (that will be growing) and I don’t want to stick to the same few classics like Chanel (overpriced atm) and Dior (overpriced, too common and doesn’t even hold value). I love Chanel and Dior btw but I just don’t see myself buying it at this life stage.

It’s easy to judge other people’s purchases but let’s remember that as long as it’s their money, we really aren’t in a position to comment. Likewise, don’t feel stressed/ guilty when others comment about your purchases as long as it’s from honest sources + you’re happy with your purchase!
