Deciding if i should loc my hair or not

Hi, I have a question for my loc girlies. So I want medium/small-medium locs with a grid pattern. I also want to start them using two strand twists.

🌸INFO: My hair is around 8 inches, fine strands, medium density, 4C. IM SO TIRED OF DETANGLING 😭🙃 so I want to loc. I want to prioritize my time to my mental health and hobbies, my loose hair is too stressful for me. So my questions are:

🌱1) Is it safe to do it by myself using things from the hair store? I don't wanna spend money, but if anyone has good stories I'll consider getting a loctitian.

🌱2) What are some tips or products that are good to use?

🌱3) Whats your current maintenance routine? I heard that spraying water everyday helps.
