How Long Can We Store Perfume? Does Perfume Expire

Hello everyone! It's me Amyra again! With another sharing! Before this i always review and share bout my perfume collection but never share bout this topic so let’s do this! So again, Does perfume actually expire?

The short answer is yes. How long perfume lasts depends on the chemical composition and how the perfume is stored but since fragrance doesn't expire in the same sense that food does, it's sometimes okay to keep using a bottle for four, even 20 years. Perfume shelf life depends on how it's stored but…. Most fragrance manufacturers will recommend tossing your bottle after anywhere from one to three years (check your label)

According to experts, perfumes with heavier base notes will last the longest. Some people compare these perfumes to a fine wine-they get better with age.

Examples of scents with heavier base notes include oriental scents, such as those with patchouli and amber. When the lighter base notes are prominent in a fragrance, the solution is often more volatile.

Citrus, green and floral perfumes, for instance, often don't last as long.

Is It Okay To Use Expired Perfume?

If your perfume does expire, applying it could result in an unpleasant smell, skin irritations or—in extreme cases—an allergic reaction. If your perfume is more than a couple years old, it's probably best to test it before you use it.
