Breakfast Nook Banquette

Our little guy is growing fast and soon wont need a high chair but he we wont have anywhere for him to sit and eat. Family meals together are important and I want to keep them as part of our routines as he grows but I am not excited about lugging our food and dishes to our dining room for every meal. Also I have selfishly taken over our dining room as my craft space.

My solution is to build an Eat in Kitchen/Breakfast Nook Banquette. Having one space for cleaning is so much easier than having to carry dishes from a dining room. Our dining room is carpet so you can imagine how messy that gets.

I finished building the bench frame. I used pocket holes to build the frame. I have never used them before so I wanted to try it for this project. I bought a pocket hole jig kit and it came with the long drill bit which made it easy to screw in the angles. It seems pretty secure too. I would definitely recommend.
