Our 60k Renovation (5i HDB Resale)

Our 5i HDB Flat is 1345 sqft with 4 bed rooms - we knocked down one and built a half wall with glass to create our dining room.

Our entire renovation costs us 60k with our contractor/ID - with Ginkgo Interior Solutions; Scroll to the last image to see a summary of what we did!

With 60k:

🏠Hacking and Masonry

- Hacked living room and all bed room flooring and cornices

- Lay 60 x 60 homogenous tiles in the living, corridor and dining room

- Lay wood like tiles in 3 bedrooms

- Hack Service Yard Tiles and lay matching ones

- Remove all windows and grills and replace new windows

- Remove all cornices and make good walls

- Hack study room walls and construct half wall

- Sound proofing of living room and MBR walls

- Construct aircon piping box up

🏠Carpentry

- Dry kitchen peninsula with Vulcan sintered stone (waterfall panelling)

- Dry kitchen full height cabinets and enclosing bomb shelter

- Entranceway full height carpentry with settee

- Living room TV feature wall with full height carpentry

- MBR “walk in wardrobe”

- MBR half height headboard with suspended bedside table and study/make up table

- Service Yard sink with Quartz counter top and allocated space for dishwasher

🏠 Electrical Works

- Rewire entire house and smart switches installation (with neutral wire)

- False ceiling for corridor and entranceway

- L box for living room

- Installation of 38 light fittings for entire house

- Installation of 28 lighting points, 20 double sockets, 6 single sockets, 5 high mount single sockets, 1 water heater point, 3 2-way switches, 1 aircon isolator point, 4 data points

🏠Plumbing Works

- Installation of new toilet bowls, new vanity sinks for both toilets, water heater and rain showers

🏠Glassworks

- Install glass above half wall in dining room

- Install frosted glass doors for both toilets

🏠Painting

- Painting of entire house

- Painting of door frames

💭Our thoughts

- Gingko ID is more of a contractor than ID - they provide good quality renovation at a very reasonable price

- However, we did have to provide them with the design we wanted, and is more suitable for those who already know what they want

- They are very responsible in terms of making good defects, and I think that’s very important in a construction company
