first things first, the decision whether or not to stay “on track” while traveling is an entirely personal and situational decision. i have a separate post evaluating the dilemma of whether or not to workout while traveling so check that one out first and then come back here 😉

IF you decide you want to stay on track, here are some tips i use👇🏼

🤍 planning workouts into my itinerary - they don’t look anything like the workouts i usually do because i don’t have the same gym access as i do at home, but something is better than nothing! i usually do quicker dumbbell only or cable only exercises & PLAN for them in my itinerary like any other excursion

🤍 stay active with walks & hikes exploring my destination

🤍 pack protein - you usually under eat protein while traveling because you’re out of your normal routine & eating different foods (which is totally okay and normal and expected) but pack some extra protein as a snack or when you’re in the airport, in your hotel, or out without access to food to boost your protein intake

🤍 keep your supplement routine consistent - if you take a supplement like creatine, keep it up while on vacation! even if you’re not working out like usual (or at all) maintaining your routine will smooth the transition to normalcy when you return

🤍 create a plan for getting on the new time zone & getting back to your usual time zone if you’re traveling somewhere with a time change! rest is KEY for progress so create a plan for getting that rest
