CINNAMON SWIRL MAPLE COOKIES that will have your entire home smelling like ✨fall✨ for the rest of the day 🫶🏼
the recipe below makes 16 chewy & pillowy cookies!
cookie dough ingredients:
🧡 15 tbsp room temp butter (1 cup minus 1 tbsp)
🧡 1 cup packed light brown sugar
🧡 1/4 cup granulated sugar
🧡 1/4 maple syrup
🧡 1 large egg
🧡 1 tsp vanilla
🧡 2 1/2 cups flour
🧡 1/2 tsp baking powder
🧡 1/4 tsp baking soda
🧡 1/4 tsp salt
cinnamon swirl:
🤎 1 tbsp room temp butter
🤎 1 tbsp maple syrup
🤎 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
🤎 1/2 tsp ground ginger
🤎 1/4 tsp nutmeg
maple frosting:
💛 2 tbsp room temp butter
💛 3 tbsp maple syrup
💛 3/4 cup powdered sugar
for rolling:
🤍 1/2 cup granulated sugar
🤍 2 tbsp cinnamon
directions:
1) whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt in a bowl
2) in another bowl, cream together butter and both sugars for 2 mins
3) add egg, vanilla, and maple syrup and mix with mixer again
4) slowly add dry mixture to wet mixture until well combined & set aside
5) in another bowl, add all ingredients for cinnamon swirl & mix with a fork
6) add your cookie dough to a container with a lid in about 4 layers, adding blobs off the cinnamon swirl in between each layer
7) CHILL THE DOUGH FOR AT LEAST 8 HOURS
8) when you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 375°F
9) in a bowl, create the cinnamon sugar mix for rolling
10) scoop out dough and create 2-inch round balls. roll them in the cinnamon sugar and stagger to put 4 dough balls on each baking sheet. DO NOT FLATTEN
11) bake for 14-16 mins
12) let cool for 10 mins
13) add maple frosting ingredients to a bowl & mix with a fork. put frosting in a piping bag or plastic bag (like i did) to pipe frosting onto cookies
