NEUTRAL FALL DECOR FROM TARGET

i looooove to make my apartment super cozy for the fall/halloween but the last thing i want is cheesy decor making my apartment look cheugy 😭

going to share with you some of my fav neutral & affordable fall decor pieces from target plus tips for how to decorate for fall without making your space look cheesy👇🏼

DOs:

🎃 stay in a neutral color palette (browns, black, creams, tans, dark greens, and the occasional burnt orange if you’re into that)

🎃 integrate the pieces into existing decor you already have on display

🎃 rely on texture & color to convey the fall vibe (think jute, wool, smokey glass)

🎃 swap out your vases with fall dried florals (you save $$ by not having to replace fresh florals once they die & they actually fit the fall vibe)

🎃 purchase decorative candles - these serve 3 very important purposes! first, they bring the fall scent indoors. two, they create a cozy ambiance when lit. three, they double as decor when left out

🎃 rely on shapes instead of words to bring the fall vibe in (pumpkins, snakes, skulls, etc)

DONTs:

👻 don’t bring bright orange or plastic decor into your space - this color palette and material doesn’t scream “refined”

👻 don’t purchase decor/signs with words or phrases like “fall is here” or “spooky season.” i know i show a “boo” pillow here in my top pics but because it is so neutral & minimal (and the rest of the entire space doesn’t have words or signs elsewhere) i can get away with this one thing LOL

👻 don’t over do it! you don’t want your space to look like you’ve completely removed everything you own to put fall/halloween decor in its place. INTEGRATE touches of fall into your existing decor so that the fall vibe is more seamless and effortless
