UNDERRATED Poolside Cafe in the WEST ⛱ 💦

Back with another cafe hopping series and I’m here to #SpillTheTea on my dining experience at the Poolside cafe with my friends for lunch! It’s quite a walk from the MRT station about 10 mins ish, or you can also take a daily free shuttle bus service from IMM.

Café Vibes: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

📖 The Poolside Cafe is a casual dining location that has the view of the clubhouse’s swimming pool. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and offers a wide variety of both local and western cuisines. Overall, the ambience is very cozy and family-friendly - even gives me the Muji vibes of feeling white 👨‍👩‍👧🤍

🦀🍤 Soft Shell Crab and Ebi Rice Bowl (SGD $15)

🍗 Grilled Chicken Donburi with Eggplant (SGD $10)

🍔 Chicken Teriyaki Burger (SGD $10.80)

First up, the soft shell crab and ebi rice bowl was a true disappointment. The soft shell crab was not cooked properly and had a frozen seafood stench 🤢❌ . The rice was overcooked and the texture was too sticky 😔. Despite all that, the ebi and Japanese curry was still a perfect combi! 😋

As for the chicken donburi, it was SO GOOD. The thai chilli sauce, both sour and spicy at the same time, really hits the spot man (missing Thailand 🇹🇭 so badly!) The egg was perfect, broccoli was soft and tender. A very generous portion which was very filling for my tummy yums! 🤭 Lastly, the teriyaki burger deserves a 7/10. The burger was average but the fries 🍟 was hot and crispy fresh out of oven. It doesn’t have the soggy feeling or oily taste. The burger was just ok but the salad 🥗 was quite disappointing too - super tiny portion.

The service here was excellent! Even though we were given a buzzer to self-collect, the service crew took the effort and initiative to serve the mains to us. Appreciate the good service standards! 💖

I felt that the Poolside Cafe is too underrated, despite it being a hidden gem in the WEST! If you haven’t heard or visited this cafe, do make a visit and you will find that it’s affordable yet peaceful and quiet for you to enjoy your meal (with A VIEW of course).
