4rm BTO: Kitchen island

Maximising space in our 4 room BTO. Decided to ditch a dining table for our multipurpose kitchen island.

After 4 years of living in, I can safely vouch for this being one of the best decisions ever. This decision works in our favour because we hardly host (maybe once for CNY?), and hardly dine at home too.

We don't have a study room, so this island also functions as our work desk.

Details that count:

1. Open shelves under the island. This is a very flexible space - It was initially a snack corner, and then it became an aesthetic corner for soft funishing. I believe it may turn into a book shelf soon.

2. Curved edge. Round edges will soften the overall look of the house and give the house a gentle feel.

Cons:

Yes, you can only fit 5 people comfortably. So this is not ideal for couples who love to host big groups of friends.

📏Measurement (which is also the biggest size possible to fit into hdb lift): 238cm x 88cm
