ST. BARTH TRAVEL TIPS 😍🏝️

St. Barth (short for St Barthélemy), is a French territory in the Caribbean known for luxury tourism and beautiful beaches.

Whether you are taking a ferry from Saint Martin or a small commercial or private flight, make sure to bring your passport - you’ll need it for customs!

The ferry port and airport are in Gustavia, the main town on the island. Gustavia is easy to both walk and drive around. There are many boutiques, luxury brand stores, cafés, and nice restaurants.

If you want to rent a car, you will be able to find a rental shop in Gustavia. Keep in mind the only gas station on the island is next to the airport.

There are a number of stunning beaches all around the island. The beaches are free to the public, even if they happen to be in front of a beach club.

This photo is from La Guérite Beach - St Barth, which is where many of the trendy beach clubs are. You can enjoy the small airplanes landing and taking off from the airport nearby, hang out on the soft white sand, rent a boat, or participate in other water sports or activities like paddle boarding.

Grand Cul-de-Sac is another popular beach on the island, known for its very shallow water (you can wade out quite far!) and for sea turtle spotting.

The beaches on St. Barths are very safe, and locals say that you can leave your things on the beach without worry. We left our stuff on the beach and swam far out for a while and everything was untouched when we returned - not common in most of the world!

If you do not end up seeing sea turtles in the water, you might find some turtles on land!

We spotted a bunch of turtles roaming around by Gouverneur, Saint Barthélemy Beach. We also saw some crossing the street very slowly - so be extra careful if you are driving and spot one!

On that note, Gouverneur Beach is another lovely beach to visit on the southern part of the island. It has a wide stretch of sand without any beach clubs, restaurants, or facilities, so it is nice for a secluded beach day (just be sure to bring food and water if you’re staying long)!

In addition, there are plenty of other beaches to consider, such as Shell Beach,Plage de Saline, or Plage de Flamands
