Shingles at 33?

I recently learned you can get shingles even at the young age of 33 😏😩.

My grandfather had passed away and I think that mixed with a lot of stress from work activated the shingles.

What started on Thursday 9/19 as a tooth ache so I thought, next day a swollen gland, to Sat a swollen eye and rash. Progressed into shingles rather quickly.

Anyone who had chicken pox as a kid, has the shingles virus within them.

However if you never had chicken pox, and are exposed to someone with shingles then you would get chicken pox. I know the math is not mathing.

The contagious part is the rash, and since I had my outbreak on my face being the most extreme kind, I had to be careful on not reusing pillow cases, not touching my face, cleaning my glasses, etc.

The risk of shingles on the face comes with nerve damage to the face, especially in the mouth and eyes. I had it begin in my eyes causing swelling, pain, and blurred eyesight.

By the grace of God I have seen improvement in pain and itching by day 7, i have to follow up with an eye specialist again to confirm no soft tissue damage.
