Do you dare to try knife massage? 🔪

When I first heard about knife massage, I was super apprehensive. Having strangers “chop” my body and even my head with a knife? No way.

But I somehow went along with it and it ended up being the best massage I’ve had throughout my Taiwan trip!

The knives are all blunt knives, so it’s actually not dangerous at all. Due to the thin surface area of the knives, they are able to hit areas that traditional massage are unable to, with great focus and accuracy. This form of massage is called 刀疗, which translates to knife therapy.

My masseuse is meticulous and checked in with me whether the strength is alright, whether I’m cold and does her best to make sure I feel relaxed.

I went for this massage during my second last day of my trip and my body is beyond tired by then after all the travelling (especially since I just came back from climbing all that stairs at Jiufen). This knife massage brought about so much relief that I regretted not trying out earlier.
