if you are looking for an affordable halal sushi option in batam, then Sushi Ozu is the place for you! it’s conveniently located in lubuk baja area which is close to most hotels and shopping malls.

definitely need to order the unagi roll (not in pic🥲), it’s so cripsy and flavourful. the salmon avocado gunkan is literally like a bomb in my mouth and the portion is huge (was too excited to ear and didn’t take a pic😭). try the staircase sushi as well!! it’s <$10 and you get a variety of sushi, and definitely insta-worthy. plus you can request the salmon and tuna to be cooked if you don’t eat raw food.

the service is rather slow, and we had to wait for like 30mins++ for the food to arrive. but the servers were very polite and patient.

the japanese vibes is there and they have private tatami rooms as well, but i’m not sure if there’s a minimum spending for the rooms.

we spent $60++ for 4 people, so approximately $15 each. the food are prices reasonably. typically a pair of sushi costs around rp20k++ (~2SGD).

overall, i think it’s a great choice if you are looking for some sushi that is not too expensive but not too basic when you are in batam.
