HOW TO GO TO NYFW

If you are new to NYC or to NYFW in general, you know the season is approaching rapidly. I am going to tell you everything you need to know about fashion week: how to go, where to get tickets, how to get invited, when to start looking.

How to go:

Going to shows is easy. All you have to do is type NYFW into google and find a show that allows you to buy tickets and is the type of clothing you like. A lot of smaller designers invite the public to their shows for around $60 a ticket, and you get a pretty great experience. You can even upgrade your tickets and buy sitting seats which is what I recommend if you can afford it! IF you want to go to the Gucci shows, dont bother because unfortunately you need to be invited to that type of show, but if you do get lucky enough to get an invite, congrats, you made it into the top 1% of NYFW!

What to Wear?

Something trendy!! Everyone is dressed to the 10's when you go to these events, and the coolest thing is you can't go wrong because style is subjective. I went twice last year and this is what I wore^^ because long skirts were just started to get trendy, but I was actually dressed pretty boring because everyone wore what I wore but elevated it. For ex. they combined trends, like the skirt trend with the denim trend and basically had a super cool vibey outfit - think of the weird stuff influencers wear during fashion week, piggy back off that, and boom, you got an amazing outfit.

After Parties?

You can also buy tickets to these as well! However, I don't recommend doing that unless you have to have stuff planned out, because you will likely get invited to one at the show! A lot of shows have after parties at the event after the show too, I did that and it was so awesome, the models joined and I got to talk to them!

NYFW events:

You want to go to revolve fest? don't worry, I got you covered. Just literally google revolve influencer NYFW event and sign up FOR FREE. They have one every year in NYC and probably other cities and it's a huge interactive exhibit that is made for taking photos. Last year it was sponsored by 818 tequila and they handed out free drinks, and you can even meet a ton of influencers there! Make sure to go with a friend so you can have someone take photos of you!! THe coolest part is after the event they have a huge sample sale showroom so you can even buy stuff from the newest collection coming out!!
