Spending less than $4/pax on our wedding favours 🎁

Hollo everyone! As an up and coming budget auntie with #auntiegoals, being able to score a good deal definitely makes my heart go bibopbibop 😂.

As mentioned in my post of Wedding Venue Selection in one month, we opted out from the hotel’s package consisting of wedding invites, angpow box, solemnization pens and the favours altogether in exchange for 13 bottles of wine.

Because what can my guests do with their 101th manicure set, a jar of honey of suspicious origin and a random test tube right?🐸

So we made the choice to source for our own wedding favours as a gift back to our relatives and friends. These were the main factors we considered:

🎁 Price (because everything is X200)

🎁 Presentability

🎁 Wow Factor

🎁 Practicality

🎁 Value perception

Some of the options I considered were (price estimates from my memory):

🐸 2 packs of TWG Tea/Bacha Coffee($4+)

Concluding it all, we narrowed down to individual bird nest bottles where guests could just simply toss after they were done with it - no additional clutter in your house and the elderly would be cool with it too (compare it to nutella or macarons).

Cross apply it with an excel of formulas to calculate your unit price, I managed to score the following for my New Moon birdnest in the 12.12 sale split into 2 accounts due to their vouchers e.g $21 off $250:

This brings my damage to $1.92/btl excluding the value of free gifts🐸 with extras for our family to consume.

So happy me just slapped on stickers with the help of my father in law 🫶🏻 and thought we were good to go!

But nonono🫠

Tip for all: Do always remember to check with your hotels if they have any existing indemnities off their food if you bring in your own food/ booth vendors.

I was informed by my hotel 2 weeks prior to my wedding that items such as bird nest/ snacks/ consumables meant that I will have to sign an indemnity to indemnify the hotel off ALL THE FOOD. Yes including your banquet food!!! Choychoychoy imagine if there was a mass food poisoning caused by some contamination of their food and you signed the indemnity😭

So to be safe and after clearance from the hotel, we decided to prepack all of our bird nests into goodie bags so that it is more mafan to open and consume compared to just plop and chug it right away.

After some crazy brain storming, we decided to give the goodie bag a theme of 酸甜苦辣 (sour,sweet,bitter,spicy) to signify our journey ahead as a couple after marriage. We also opted out of any name customizations because no one will remember it🌝
