Pineapple hacks 🍍

It’s pineapple season folks! This is not a drill! 🚨

My obsession with pineapples started in college. My roommate and I made it our mission to learn how to pick the JUICIEST & SWEETEST pineapple every time we went to the store. Now even after college, I am still picking the perfect pineapple!

This is how we did it:

👀 First thing I always do is look to see which pineapple looks the most yellow. Sometimes if they are over ripe they will have a yellow brownish color. You do not want that! It is okay if the pineapple is yellow with some green on it still!

👃🏼 Once I see a good yellow pineapple I smell the bottom of the pineapple. It should smell fruity and sweet. If it doesn’t, it isn’t ready.

🍃 If it smells fruity, but you still aren’t sure try to pull out one of the leaves at the very top. If it’s easy and one comes right out your pineapple is ready to eat! (Woohoooo) If it’s hard to pull out, it needs to wait a few more days to ripen!

The great news is if you take home a pineapple and it isn’t ready, it will continuously ripen at your house! Once it looks yellow in color you can smell the bottom and pull out a leaf to really know if it’s ready!
