POPULAR THINGS TO DO IN LISBON 🇵🇹

Sintra - worth it

In Sintra there are 5 palaces/castles with beautiful architecture among a huge park and sprawling gardens with great views. The small hillside town is super cute to walk around too with cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. 🏰

Santa Justa Lift - not worth it

There are so many free miradouro (viewpoint) options throughout Lisbon with amazing views of the city, so spending money to wait in a long line for this lift isn’t worth it and the view is mostly blocked by metal bars.

EmbaiXada - worth it

This is a 19th century palace turned into a small shopping center with beautiful architecture, upscale vendors and designers as well as a restaurant. It’s definitely a very underrated spot in the Príncipe Real neighborhood. 🛍️

Tram 28 - worth it

This is a unique and authentic experience that is a great way to see the city. It’s a 40 minute ride that takes you up and down the hills through many historical sites and popular neighborhoods. There is usually a long wait at the first stop, so try to get on along the way. 🚊

Miradouros (viewpoints) - worth it

Miradouro de Santa Luzia and Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara are my favorite viewpoints to see panoramic views of the city. There is often live music and they’re great places to watch the sunset. 🌅

Belém - not worth it

While it’s a nice riverside town only 20-30 minutes from Lisbon and a historical UNESCO site, the tower itself is underwhelming. I wouldn’t prioritize this since there are so many more interesting things to do in Lisbon.
