My local beach is a Mid Atlantic hotspot, so here's how to enjoy Virginia Beach as if you were a local instead of a tourist:

🏖 BEACH DAY: There's free parking and beach access points on higher streets like 57th near Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. A local's favorite spot for beach days is Croatan, which is just south of Rudee Inlet and the Boardwalk.

🦪 DINING: Chix on the Beach is the local favorite Oceanfront restaurant. The crab dip is amazing! Plus it has live entertainment during the weekends. Also grab an orange crush!

🍹 DRINKS: The Sky Bar is a favored spot for drinks with a view! It sits on top of the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront between 30th and 31st street. They often have a DJ playing too.

🥞 BREAKFAST: Pocahontas Pancake House is something of an Oceanfront legend at this rate. They've got anything and everything you could want for breakfast. And, those pancakes are huge!

🎡 AMUSEMENTS: Off 15th street, Atlantic Fun Park is a cool little coastal funfair. The Ferris wheel here offers great views and photo ops of the beach!

🍭 DESSERTS: The Sweet Spot is your one stop shop for every sugary thing you could imagine. The Crazy Pebbles bubble waffle and Brownie milkshake are great! They've also 30+ flavors of ice cream.

💀 HAUNTS: It's very atypical of your traditional beach experience, but Nightmare Mansion is essentially a cult classic at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. It's a year-round haunted house attraction on 20th street.
