what to expect the first week home with a newborn

If you’re expecting soon, here’s what I wish someone would’ve told me when I was too!

When bringing home a newborn, don’t expect a routine to set in for the first few weeks. Babies that small will eat, sleep, and pee/poop when they want and it won’t be until about a month old that a routine starts to develop.

Also, don’t expect to sleep a lot. Unless you get lucky, most babies don’t sleep long stretches at night. Good thing they’re cuddly though right?! I remember it felt like it was never going to end in the beginning. That I was never going to sleep again. But now my baby only wakes up once - two times a night and i kind of miss that stage of being super tiny and needing to be fed all night :(
