gentle parenting gets a bad rep. there’s a lot of misinformation around it, so let’s talk about some common myths. 👇🏼

“they always get their way”

the biggest misconception of gentle parenting is mistaking it for permissive parenting. gentle parenting is NOT permissive parenting. it’s creating boundaries while also letting your child’s voice be heard.

“there’s no discipline”

there are still rules with gentle parenting, however children are not ridiculed for making mistakes. we give opportunities to try again and learn from our mistakes, with natural consequences.

“they will grow up to be spoiled brats”

gentle parenting aims to raise children that are in touch with their feelings, and are empathic towards others. simply because you raised them that way! their needs for emotional support and love were met growing up so they won’t spend their life trying to regulate or fulfill those needs. you cannot spoil a child with love. ❤️
