The Mice Have Moved In

i think I have a mouse infestation brewing in my house and I'm totally creeped out. What started as hearing occasional scurrying noises at night has turned into an all-out war.

In just the last week, I've found droppings all over the kitchen counters, cabinets, and even in my utensil drawers. So gross! I went to grab a pan from the cabinet yesterday and a mouse came skittering out.

Then this morning, I noticed a box of crackers had been completely chewed through and scattered everywhere. Those little guys are getting bolder by the day.

I've tried sealing up any holes, laid out traps, and even got a cat (who shows zero interest in doing her job). But I keep finding new signs of the mice making themselves at home. What else can I possibly do?

The thought of sharing my space with all these dirty rodents is making my skin crawl. I can't relax, can't sleep without imagining them scurrying across me. It's consuming all my thoughts.

Should I just break down and hire an exterminator at this point? Or are there any proven home remedies for evicting these unwanted tenants? I'm desperate to get rid of them but I'm also so skeeved out by the idea of dead mouse carcasses around the house too.
