If there is one thing you should never skip before your workout, it would have to be your mobility routine. I grew up being an athlete and had the phrase “always stretch before you workout” engraved in my brain, I always found it annoying and told myself I’d just stretch after I was done working out. That was until I realized just how important mobility work is.

It warms up your muscles and also helps you lift heavier, run faster, and keep up with your endurance. It also helps prevent injuries such as tearing your muscles, sprains, fractures, etc…

Another thing is that make sure you’re doing full body mobility. On upper body days, also do leg mobility, vice versa. It makes a hugeee difference.

I’ve also noticed that ever since I’ve incorporated at least 15 minutes of mobility work before my workouts, I can lift heavier and reach my full range of motion, giving me more muscle strength and mass.

So the next time someone tells you to stretch and do mobility work before a workout… trust them, it’s for the best.
