We’ve already talked about all the good things creatine has to offer, but how about we talk about some creatine myths that you may hear all over the internet?

When it comes to creatine, I know a lot of people (especially women) can get paranoid and start second guessing whether it’s a good idea to start taking it. So let’s talk about it…

First up, “creatine causes bloating”…

- Creatine is an osmolyte which means it only pulls water whete it is stored, aka: your muscles. It causes short term water retention which is why it may appear like you’re bloated when in reality you’re not. However, if you genuinely are bloated, I promise you it’s because you’re not hydrated enough. You HAVE to be drinking more water than you think, a lot more water.

Second, “creatine will harm your kidneys”…

- Um false. The only reason why creatine would he harmful to your kidneys is because you’re 1. You’re taking too much or 2. You’re not drinking enough water. You should only be taking 5g of creatine daily, not more not less. And please, I can’t stress enough about how much water you should be drinking.

Third, “creatine causes hair loss”…

- It most definitely does not… the only reason people say this is because of ONE study that was performed on a small group of men for a short peopled of time back in 2009, since then, there have been SO MANY studies to show that creatine does not cause hair loss. After all, creatine is the most researched supplement out there ;)

Don’t be scared to hop on creatine!! You’ll be missing out on a lot if you don’t!!
