A Day Trip to Silver Springs, FL

Silver Springs

It was that time again to do something adventurous and out of the ordinary so we decided to go to Silver Springs for a see-through kayak adventure.

We booked our 2 hour guided tour in advance with Eco Adventure Tours for $70 per person. The drive from Sarasota to Silver Springs was about a 2 hour and 20 minute drive.

When we arrived, our tour guide gave us basic instructions on how to manage the kayak and went over some rules.

Once we embarked, the water was a sight to behold. I could not believe how crystal clear the water was. Through the kayak, you could see all different types of fish swimming around and under you. As we kayaked through the spring, our tour guide, educated us on the wildlife around us.

The wildlife here is truly spectacular. We saw countless alligators, big and small just minding their own business. We also got to see birds with spear shaped beaks dive in and catch fish. did you know that monkeys are frequently seen here to? How cool is that? Fun fact about them, in 1938 a tour boat operator released six monkeys into a small island in the park, now there are hundreds of them.

Hollywood movies were also filmed here so we saw movie props, such as sunken ships and production boat decks.

It was a serene and blissful experience to kayak through the crystal, clear waters and jungle of Silver Springs. 100% worth the drive and will be coming back to Silver Springs very soon.
