Hey š š±rs
I hope youāre all doing well! Today, I wanted to share a bit about my current wellness journey. Iāve been under the weather for over two weeks now, and itās been quite a challenge. This morning was especially tough ā I woke up late, my kids missed the school bus, and I donāt have my car right now. Itās a mess! š©
But despite all this, Iām finding ways to take care of myself and wanted to share some tips that have been helping me.
šš§ Rest is crucial when youāre not feeling well. Iāve been making sure to get plenty of sleep (well as much as my children allow) and stay hydrated. Staying hydrated is super important, especially when youāre sick, as it helps flush your system. Remember, you need even more fluids if youāre active or unwell.
šµ Iāve been wanting to share some of my favorite herbal teas with you. I utilize these in tea form because they are easily accessible from stores, but if you have the opportunity to grow your own herbs, I highly encourage that.
Here are the brands I trust and that have been working for me:
Throat Tamer Tea by Sleepy Time: This tea has been a lifesaver for my sore throat with its blend of licorice root, slippery elm bark, spearmint, chamomile, lemongrass, and ginger.
Yogi Sweet Lemon Everyday Immune Tea: A delightful blend with vitamin C-rich acerola fruit, tulsi leaf, and rose hips, perfect for daily wellness support.
Yogi Breathe Easy Tea: Combines eucalyptus and thyme for respiratory support, with licorice, cinnamon, and cardamom for a naturally spicy-sweet flavor.
Yogi Elderberry Lemon Balm Immune + Stress Tea: A wonderful blend for immune support and stress relief, featuring elderberry, lemon balm, and ashwagandha.
If you can grow your own herbs or have suggestions for other brands, Iād love to hear them! Iāve been looking into Mountain Rose Herbs, which sells in bulk, and Iām considering switching over to them.
šæ Iāve also been using these natural remedies:
Echinacea: Boosts the immune system, reduces inflammation, and has been used for centuries to combat colds and infections.
Seaverse Mushroom Gummies: Contain extracts from medicinal mushrooms like turkey tail, lionās mane, and reishi, which help boost the immune system, support brain health, ease stress, and provide antioxidant support.
Ashwagandha: Helps manage PCOS symptoms and overall stress. Itās known for reducing stress and anxiety, improving brain function, and supporting hormonal balance.
šÆ In my teas, I avoid sugar and use Stevia or Manuka honey (MG 50+ for its antibacterial properties). I also love adding fresh ginger root slices and a squeeze of lemon for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Additionally, I like to throw in a stick of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg for good luck. Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, while nutmeg can aid digestion and improve sleep quality.
Growing up, my family passed down some traditional herbal knowledge, but I wasnāt always consistent with using these remedies. Since becoming more consistent and moving away from over-the-counter medications, Iāve found that these natural remedies help me manage my lower immune system much better. Now I can get through the day without collapsing. š©
Remember, itās important to listen to your body and give it the rest and care it needs. If youāre feeling under the weather, donāt hesitate to try some of these natural remedies. They might just make a difference for you too!
