Okay for real, this island was called Pulau Babi Besar due to the wild boars roaming to the island 😂 Now that the babis has left, they wanna keep it halal & renamed it to Pulau Besar/Besar Island. But! Some still call it Pulau Babi Besar to avoid confusion, since there’s another island in Melaka called Pulau Besar… 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, Pulau Babi Besar is located in the Mersing district of Johor. The beach has a really clear waters, you can even see the sea creatures and the coral reef from the water surface. Here, you can enjoy doing water sports activities such as, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing and more! You also can explore the entire island on foot. 👣

✅ TIPS:

1. There’s no ATM available here so it’s best to bring enough cash with you to pay for your accommodation, food, activities etc

2. Most resorts are closed during monsoon season (around November to February)

3. Poor phone/mobile signal coverage on the island so you might want to keep away from the tablets & enjoy the holiday!
