Is Cosplay at 20s too LATE or EARLY❓

Aiyin here back with another post and I'll be sharing my thoughts on when's the best time to cosplay especially for those who want to jump into the hobby 👀

Personally, you can start anytime as long you have the passion and motivation to do it as well as budget. Depending on what style you want to do, more budget is needed for it especially if it is a niche character. A simple closet cosplay or casual cosplay less 💸 than accurate cosplays. Here's a breakdown for y'all:

1. Closet cosplay -> Using items you have at home that looks similar to your character's outfit

2. Casual cosplay -> I usually just like to call it alternate cosplay coz typically we cosplay characters but in different settings (e.g. high school vibes, mafia vibes, etc.)

3. Accurate cosplays -> Outfit is 90 to 100% accurate to the character

What's the difference of pricing?

Closet cos = Casual cos << Accurate cos

Closet and casual typically more cheaper as both can be obtained at your own house or even thrift the items. Although some cosplay outfits that are casual can cost similar to accurate cos if buy firsthand online depending on preference. Majority, however, usually is cheaper. Accurate cos are expensive which personally, if you can buy second hand from others actually helps if you are short on money. I usually don't get second hand items (my fear of second hand clothes be like) so I usually just buy first hand and pay slowly if the service allows it. Of course, vouchers are a must if you want to get a cheaper price 🤩

When you can start cosplay? Frankly speaking, if you want to do casual cos or accurate cos anytime can start but if you want to do content that are mature to some audience, I suggest wait till you're 18 just to be safe from unwanted people especially there are cases involving younger cosplayers.

Usually people will say "Aiya you're (20s/30s/40s) can retire dy la from cosplay too old la not like some other cosers that are younger." DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM. There's never an age limit to cosplay so if you want to cosplay, go ahead I support yall 💞

Of course, if want to cosplay always give the best attitude. No one likes seeing people getting mistreated coz by the end of the day, we return to normal lives. Usually, some people may become bad and may give dumb reasons like "XX character is evil so I am just acting in character." Well no you don't be a nuisance to people because you will still be held accountable for your actions regardless who you're cosplaying as. People see us as cosplayers and not the characters 💀.

TLDR: its never too late to cosplay whoever u want to cosplay as long you have fun 🥺
