I Hate SKINCARE ‼ How Cosplay Changed Me 😮

Aiyin here and today I'll be sharing with you guys how cosplay has changed me and this includes how this hobby made me ended up embracing #skincare 🥺 Let's jump to it!

Cosplaying is one of the hobbies I did during #MyFreeTime as it is something that I personally enjoy as dressing up as your favourite characters give me joy 💕 People will say it's escapism but we don't talk about that although it may be true for some people but hey, if that's what makes them more calm, I don't see an issue 👀

Either way, before I even jumped into cosplay, I didn't really bother about fashion and skincare in general. Yes, I was that girl that believed that I only needed soap to wash my face 🤡

Crazy right? Apparently, at that time I couldn't find any suitable cleansers for my face and I had an awful sleeping schedule. Ever since I got into cosplay, the first few months, I didn't care about skincare as well because of my old mentality of "Bruh who needs makeup for this it'll be fine."

Yes, if you don't mind how you look, of course. This is subjective but for me, personally if I don't wear makeup and cosplay, it looked off-putting. If others don't wear it, I didn't see any problem coz they slay ✨ but for me? AHAHAHAHAHAH it's awful I tell you. I looked very WASHED OUT. I didn't like how I look so I resorted to wear a mask when I cosplay so I didn't have to think much about it.

As time went by, I slowly think I should probably start adapting a better lifestyle because my main reason that I cosplay is to inspire people to be able to achieve their dreams. Cosplayers are like idols, they have their fans, etc. especially for the famous ones. As they are a public figure, I told myself "Okay, if I want to improve my cosplay, I should start developing healthier habits."

That's when I started to look into skincare and find which ones are suitable for me. Maintaining the skincare routine and learned makeup tips as well as wig styling and posing improved me a lot from an amateur cosplayer who just slapped things and called it a day to a cosplayer that puts effort and have a neater appearance.

I thought at first wigs came in styled but I was wrong ‼ Wigs are commonly unstyled as we have to style them ourselves based on our face shape, etc. Cosplay made me learn a lot of skills which some are also soft skills like communicationasI was an introvert. Still am but can be mistaken as an extrovert.

Personally, cosplay for me is something that truly changed my views on things in life. Yes, it is an expensive hobby but it is something that I enjoy. As long I am content with it, it is more than enough for me.
