BARBIE MOVIE | Is it a Yay?

Hello peeps, it’s review time! This time it will be about Barbie🎀

My rating: 5/10 🌟

As it is a fantasy movie, so it is not weird for it to not make sense when we compare it to the reality plots. It is okay to not make sense when it comes to fantasy story. For me, the bonus point goes to the setting in this movie. How they made it like a real setting with all the plastic and little details like “drink empty cup” , “take a bath without water” “brush teeth without really brushing teeth”. The details and the pink setting is so onpoint and so cute🤌🏻

The other points go to the messages that I got throughout the movie:

“All female characters are called as Barbie and all male characters are called as Ken”

- It is a beautiful message that said everyone can be Barbie and Ken no matter how they look and no matter how different they look from each other. Whether u are a pregnant lady/lawyer/doctor/president/single lady, everyone can be their own Barbie and Ken.

“Even if u cannot have it perfect, u can still make it better”

- We all live with flaws and sometimes we wish to turn back time as we think we better settle in with the past sbb with our limited knowledge on what’s the best for us, we thought the better things were always in the past. Sbb compare between things yg kita tak tau dgn things yg kita dah tau and dah lalui and nampak, ofcourse for us, it’s easier to just settle in with what we already know, right? Tp dlm movie ni, the message is more to like, we can always start from scratch again, and we can still move forward eventhough we do not have it all like how we used to have.

“Know who u truly are”

- Remember that scene where Ken thought he is a nobody without Barbie and he needs Barbie in his life because he thinks he cannot live without her? Or the part where he said he needs something to define who he is, like beach for example? This part just remind me of myself. I used to think that I am a nobody without having my own group of friends, that I am a nobody without my first love or that I am a nobody if I do not try fit in. That was my mentality before, now it’s more like relearning about myself, be comfortable in my own skin, be okay to be alone, be okay to not fit in, be okay to go anywhere by myself, be brave to do things on my own feet.
