I can’t scroll through Instagram without seeing a well-dressed woman wearing a waistcoat. The waistcoat has been having a moment lately. The waistcoat first appeared in the 1970s as part of a women’s uniform. It resurfaced again in the 90’s and could be seen on lots of it-models.

The waistcoat is an androgynous piece. A bit masculine, a little bit bohemian, it is a great piece for any time of the year. It may seem to be an “unsettling” trend that looks difficult to style. I can assure you it is quite easy.

It can be worn, just as a tee shirt, over a pair of jeans. It exudes cool girl vibes. The waistcoat can be a layering piece. Wear underneath a matching blazer for a masculine vibe. Another option is to wear it with a trench coat to showcase different textures.
