Upgrade your standard terrace handrails with this!

For those who are planning to make a little change but will make a big impact for your standard terrace house, this is something that you can consider just by changing the steel handrails to a glass with powder coated stainless steel.

When we were planning for our home renovation, we love the idea of using glass, tempered glass to be specific to give the house a modern look. With glass, it will open up the space even more and will not obstruct the views.

The process of ordering this custom glass handrails was a smooth one. So here are some tips that you can follow:

1. To keep a picture of an inspiration so you can send it to the glass maker/ contractor because there are many different types of styles. We opted for the one with black powder coated stainless steel handles on the glass. There’s also a design without the handles but I guess it’s convenient to have it for the kids.

2. Price shall be quoted per foot run and in our case, it was RM340 per ft run and total of RM5600 inclusive of other requests on steel colors. Be sure to be specific with the requests so the contractor know your specific design details like:

Shape of handrail: Square

Color of steel: Matte Black powder coated

Screws: Matte Black screws/ knobs

Color of glass: Clear

3. The installation will be done in phases as they will need to prep the area and take exact measurements of location of screw knobs after the old handrails were taken down. So there will be a period of 2 weeks or more where you stairs will not have any handles - so you can prepare for safety measures in case there are kids in your home.
