Where are my tinned fish girlies at? 🐟

Tinned fish is having a revival. Forget the shriveled up overly salted limp anchovies that go to die on pizzas, instead, imagine sweet meaty Tuna Fillets in Rosemary Olive Oil, deliciously unctous Spiced Mackerel Pâté and Scallops in Galician sauce.

Where to start 🐟

Start small. Buy sardines in tomato sauce and spread on hot buttered toast. This combination is a pleasure I would highly recommend experiencing.

I would also suggest buying tinned tuna specifically in olive oil, it is quite a delight and a totally different experience to tuna in water.

Breakfast 🥐

Need a filling brunch before tackling the weekend shop? Why not add tinned salmon together with sun-dried tomatoes and dill to your cheesy frittata or perhaps include chopped anchovies in your avocado toast?

Lunch 🥪

Try making a Tunacado at home! Mix tuna, dill, lemon, paprika, mayo, tabasco, shallots and layer the tuna mayo on a flat bread with avocado and tomato - pretty heavenly.

Dinner 🍝

And as for dinner, a simple yet delicious offering of Pantry Pasta (pasta, butter, anchovies and capers + chili flakes) together with a fresh green salad and perhaps a bottle of chilled chardonnay?
