How to SCORE A+ for Sejarah in SPM ✨

Tips 💡:

1. The textbook is all you need

I think the best reference book for Sejarah is the textbook itself, all the peristiwa yang perlu ingat are all inside. So, you can save cost on buying all the thick reference books and just read Sejarah textbook for form 4 & form 5.

2. Read questions and answers

If you don't have time to do exercises/latihan, reading the questions and answers for past year & Trial papers is more than enough to secure at least an A-/A for Sejarah. You can join telegram groups such as 'EXERCISE STUDENTS' to get access to ALL of the trial papers from each state, which was what I used to study for the most part. If you've read a bunch, you'll find that most of the questions are repetitive and you can sort of guess which ones are more relevant & require extra time to hafal.

3. Don't waste time doing notes

Kalau you rasa that doing notes is good for you then of course do it, tapi if you are trying to cram the syllabus in a limited time span, it's best if you just focus on fully reading the textbook. What I do to remember is I usually underline important points with a ruler using pencil & do short summaries/ extra info on the side. (Your jnrs will love you for it too haha)

4. Remember the important figure/tokoh's role in the event instead of their names

Besides a few must know names like Tunku Abdul Rahman/Adolf Hitler, knowing their role in every peristiwa is enough. That way, you can just focus on the bigger picture of each event instead of stressing yourself out with the names. As long as you write down the proper sequence of events, memorising every name and date in the textbook won't be necessary.

5. Aim to score in KBAT questions

The essay section are what will help you THE MOST with the KBAT questions, all you have to do is write logical answers. For example, if they ask you :

"Mengapakah kedaulatan institusi Raja perlu dipertahankan?"

Points that you can elaborate on includes :

- Untuk mewujudkan kestabilan politik dalam negara

- Untuk menjaga keselamatan negara kita daripada ancaman luar

6. Use the correct format & penanda wacana/linkers

For my batch, we used FHCIFHCI format (Fakta Huraian, Contoh, Inferens x 2) for 8 marks KBAT questions (It would be best to confirm with your teachers)

It may be weird as to why you need to write penanda wacana (In my opinion), it's to help the teachers catch where does your point start & end. If the teacher is marking a ton of papers, there's a risk for them to overlook certain keypoints. So adding basic penanda wacana (Seterusnya, Buktinya, Oleh itu, etc..) will help your teacher mark efficiently.

Additional tips :

✔️Info dump WHATEVER you can think of, the teachers are there to help you get points, so there's nothing to lose.

✔️If you have time, check, double check, TRIPLE CHECK
