new york fashion week | day 2

new york fashion week day 2 started off as expected – stuck in traffic. doing my makeup in the back of an uber might seem like a *movie moment* to some, but it’s one that occurs far too often this week. i grabbed only the necessities (shout out to fenty, kosas, tower 28 and saie for getting me through the week), and headed to the brooklyn navy yard for the first event.

a backstage access pass to fashion week can feel quite surreal. having the first look at what the designer has been tucked away working on for the last year, while also getting a quick glimpse into the workings of their mind right before their collection is shown. the ss24 collina strada show embodied ‘soft is hard,’ with models walking down the runway in smiles and frowns. once the show wrapped, i was off to the next event in soho. but first, had to stop and smell the…sunset!

*cue another back-of-an-uber moment* i changed (yes…changed) in the back of my uber while speeding back to soho for the final event of the night. after many a fashion weeks, i have come to the conclusion that black is always the best idea – chic, sleek, timeless, sophisticated. i walked into the madness of the ss24 private policy show, and was quickly seated. the show wrapped, and i headed home for the night to a bowl of cereal and my bed (both were very much needed).
