Why I won’t be showing My face on social media. 🍋

I won’t be showing my face on any of my social medias. Let’s talk about the reasons behind my decision.

🌸Safety

With so many people on Social Media these days, you never know who could be on your page, looking at pictures of you. While most people are probably harmless, There are plenty of creeps and p*dophiles

Out there I don’t want looking at pics of me.

🌸Judgement

Once again, there are so many people on social media, even people who are insecure of their image and project that on others. I don’t want to be the subject of hate due to my looks, and I don’t want the insecurity that comes with this; if I don’t put my face out there, they can’t be the judge of my beauty and how I see myself when I look in the mirror.

🌸Recognition

With the way anybody can blow up online literally overnight, I don’t want to be recognized in Public for a post that I have made. Some random person recognizing me would scare me, as you never know the intention of the person. This can also put you in danger if they disagree with anything you have posted before. I also don’t want people I know to see the content I put out on this app, because I would like to use it as almost a diary of sorts.

🌸Privacy

I don’t want strangers to know personal details about my life, and being able to put a face to these things they know about me would make it easy for someone to find information about me and my personal life that I do not want on the internet. My address, phone number, my school, etc.

🌸Stress

There is so much stress that comes with social media period, but even more when you are putting your face out there for everyone to see.

🌸Validation

I don’t want my validation to come from how successful I am on the internet, how well my posts are doing, how many likes they are getting, how many interactions and comments and views they are getting, or how many followers I have. This can risk putting your worth into how well you are doing online and this is not a healthy or real way to be living.

🌸An online resume

A social media where you show your face is easily identifiable, which means anyone can find it. This is including future employers. They might see stuff they disagree with and use this as a reason to not hire me /fire me. If I have ever complained about a company I worked for, boom, reason not to hire me. I don’t want my business opportunities to disappear due to a post I might have made when I was young and dumb.

Please think twice before putting your face and information out on the internet, it will literally be there for ever.

I’m not trying to judge anyone who put themselves out there in this way, keep doing you.

I would also like to put out that I am not ashamed of my face and looks, and you shouldn’t be either!
